Who Hydrodermabrasion is best for

Because the protocol is customised at every visit, this facial suits a wide range of skin types and concerns.

Dull, dehydrated skin

Rehydrates and re-plumps skin that feels tight, tired, or flat — for an immediate luminous finish.

Congested pores

Wet-exfoliation lifts blackheads, sebum plugs, and dead-cell buildup without harsh manual pressure.

Pre-event glow

Zero downtime and no risk of purging — safe to book 2–5 days before a wedding, shoot, or big night out.

Sensitive skin

The Candela Glacée cooling handpiece is gentler than traditional crystal microdermabrasion.

Mixed textures

Great for combination skin: hydrating where dry, decongesting where oily, refining where uneven.

All skin tones

Non-thermal and non-chemical — safe for Fitzpatrick I–VI, including melanin-rich skin.

What is Hydrodermabrasion?

Struggling with clogged pores, dull skin, or dehydration? This gentle, non-invasive facial deeply cleanses, exfoliates, and infuses skin with hydrating, nutrient-rich serums. Using the advanced Candela Glacée system, it removes impurities while restoring glow, smoothness, and balance — instantly and with no downtime.

At Luma Skin we perform hydrodermabrasion with the professional-grade Candela Glacée system, chosen for its cooling handpiece and precise vacuum control. It's a well-established alternative to the HydraFacial protocol — same wet-exfoliation principle, refined technology — and pairs beautifully with the sculpting facial massage and hydrating mask included in every session.

Because nothing peels, burns, or breaks the skin barrier, there is no downtime. Most clients see an immediate glow, tighter-looking pores, and softer texture the moment they step off the bed — making it our most-booked facial before weddings, photoshoots, and events.

How your session flows

01

Skin analysis & double cleanse

Your specialist assesses your skin type, current concerns, and goals — then follows with a professional double cleanse to reset the surface.

02

Enzyme exfoliation

A gentle fruit-enzyme mask softens the outer layer of dead cells, preparing the skin for a deeper, more effective vacuum extraction step.

03

Vacuum extraction & serum infusion

The Candela Glacée handpiece glides across the face — simultaneously drawing out impurities and pressing in a hydrating, nutrient-rich serum.

04

Hydrating mask & SPF finish

A soothing mask locks in hydration. We finish with moisturiser and broad-spectrum SPF, so you can head straight back out into your day.

What's included in every visit

Every hydrodermabrasion facial at Luma Skin follows the same nine-step boutique protocol — so you always know what you're getting, whether it's your first visit or your tenth.

Common questions

How is hydrodermabrasion different from a HydraFacial?
Both use vacuum-based technology to cleanse, exfoliate, and infuse the skin with serums. HydraFacial is one brand of hydradermabrasion device; we use the Candela Glacée system, which pairs the same wet-exfoliation principle with a cooling handpiece for extra comfort. The protocol, results, and downtime are equivalent — instant glow, no peeling, no redness.
Is there any downtime?
No. Hydrodermabrasion is one of the gentlest deep-cleansing facials available. You can wear makeup, exercise, and go straight back to your day afterwards. Some clients notice a light flush for an hour or so, but this settles quickly.
How often should I book it?
For most skin types, once every 4 weeks keeps skin balanced, decongested, and glowing. If you have very oily or congested skin, your specialist may suggest a tighter series (every 2–3 weeks) for the first few visits.
Can I get this before a wedding or event?
Yes — it's one of our most-booked pre-event facials because the glow is immediate and there is no risk of purging or redness on the day. We recommend booking 2–5 days before the event for the ideal peak-glow window.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
In most cases, yes. The wet-exfoliation approach and cooling Candela Glacée handpiece are far gentler than traditional microdermabrasion. If you have active rosacea, eczema flares, or broken skin, your specialist will adapt the serums or suggest an alternative facial.
Can I combine it with laser hair removal on the same day?
You can combine it with laser hair removal on the body (legs, underarms, bikini, etc.) on the same day. We do not recommend pairing it with laser on the face in the same visit — the skin needs a rest window between treatments. Your specialist will help you plan the schedule.
